Rewind
And if the game happens to be bullying, here are two stories to help you ‘read’ the problem. The first is a group-size picture book which explores the issue for young readers in a colourful and sympathetic format, as little Alison fights off her real demons, having conquered the fantasy monsters first. The second centres around the perpetual bad-hair days of the novel’s hero Artie, who besides getting into constant trouble at school also meets the bullies at the school gate. Wouldn’t you just like to rewind days like that? That’s what Artie finds he can do!
Hoppers Series: Alison and the Bully Monsters
A story about Alison being bullied.
Artworks on Series...: Work
A fully-illustrated colour volume which meets the National Curriculum requirements in Art for Key Stage 2, comprising an appreciation of multi-media art work which depicts people at work, suggestions for classroom activities, information about art history and terms, together with details of the works of 14 artists, especially the life and work of Will Roberts (1907-2000).
Run, Becca, Run!
Find out the problems when you’re the only girl in the school rugby team!
A new title for primary school readers.
Compass Series: Going to the Match
In the popular Compass series, this title follows the characters’ trip to a rugby match. Once again there’s lots of opportunities for environmental text, and a real sense of place and occasion.
